Clients are frequently frustrated with the time required for SEO programs to show progress. I think there’s a mindset that optimizing a new website will put it at the top of organic search results right away. Unfortunately, that just isn’t the case. There are so many factors that go into SEO and it is not broadly understood.
So, in my quest to educate the world (and myself) on SEO, I’ve been doing a lot of reading, looking for quality articles to pass along. Here are a couple of helpful articles I’ve found:

Great point Jennifer. The fact of the matter is, that there is no “quick fix” solution in the world of SEO. Seeing as nobody knows the exact algorithms search engines use, it becomes a situation where we have to do what works best, and wait to see what sticks. It’s an ongoing process, that takes time, and careful attention.
You can help yourself by building a W3C compliant (standards-based) website, rich in content that is updated regularly.
